In-Home Personal
Training Toronto
Core provides in-home personal training in Toronto for beginners, people returning to exercise, and clients who are no longer seeing progress on their own.
Every Core program begins with a movement assessment. The assessment examines how you move, identifies patterns that may affect your training, and gives your coach the information needed to build a personalized strength program.
Your program then progresses with you, based on your goals, training history, current abilities, and response to each phase of training.
How the Core Training Program Works

Core begins with a movement assessment
Before your first training session, we do a full movement assessment. Most people have imbalances they’ve never been told about that movement patterns that look fine until you put load on them. We find those first, because building strength on top of dysfunction just makes it harder to fix later.

Your personal trainer comes to you
Core provides in-home personal training at houses, condos, and residential building gyms across downtown Toronto, Yorkville, King West, Liberty Village, the Financial District, North York, and the GTA. Your trainer brings the equipment required for the session. You only need a clear, suitable space in your home or building gym.
Clients who prefer to train outside their residence can also book studio sessions at Placemade locations on Spadina Avenue and Richmond Street.

Core adapts your program as you progress
You’re not doing the same workout in month 3 that you did in month 1. Every few weeks we reassess and progress the training based on how your body is actually responding and your training goals.

I've worked out on and off for years and always ended up injured. Marwa completely changed that. Her knowledge of physiology and experience as an athlete helped rebuild me into someone stronger and more balanced than ever. She adapts my program around old injuries and always takes a 360 approach. Almost three years in, I can’t imagine stopping and I’ve recommended her to my wife and sister too.Posted on Google![]()

I'm in my late fifties and I had stopped working out a long time ago due to a combination of injury and lack of motivation, but Marwa helped me get back into strength training. Her functional approach improved my everyday strength and helped me enjoy golf without getting injured. Three years later, I’m stronger and in the best shape of my life.Posted on Google![]()

Marwa is the best running coach I've had over the past 3 years. After a serious injury and six month break from running, she helped me rehab my right glute tendinopathy with a detailed, focused approach. Her gait analysis and strength testing identified my weak right hip and SI joint issues, and she gave me specific exercises to address them. After 3 months, I completed a half marathon pain-free and am now training to PB in October.Posted on Google![]()

My family has a history of sciatica and I've always been very apprehensive of going to the gym because I’m always scared I’d injure myself. I initially started going for a few months, then gave up after my lower back pain got worse. I decided I should find a personal trainer to help me learn proper form and tell me what to do. I found Marwa through a friend of mine and was very happy that I did. She helped me with a program to strengthen my body around my sciatica pain and would give me exercises to do on my own that didn’t cause flare ups. I now feel so much better in my body as I started to notice visible muscles and I started sizing down!Posted on Google![]()

I used to work out a lot when I was younger. I did a lot of hard core weightlifting and ended up with a few herniated discs and a destroyed knee. I had to stop working out for more than six years and gained a lot of weight in the process. I had zero motivation to do any sort of movement besides walking around my house because it was very painful to do everything else. After putting on more than 70 lbs over the years, I started developing heart problems so I decided it was time to find help and get back into working out. I came across Marwa’s profile and was impressed with her careful approach in our first session. She was very considerate and met me where I was at my level and that was exactly what I was looking for. She knows how to motivate me without pushing. We’ve been training together for two years and I’ve never felt more capable in my body. I even started going to beach and playing volley on Saturday.Posted on Google![]()

Marwa is an amazing running coach! After a difficult pregnancy and pelvic floor dysfunction, I struggled to run beyond 10k without pain. Working with Marwa twice a week on strength, mobility, drills and running form helped me reach 15k pain free in just two months. I'm now on track for my first NYC half marathon.Posted on Google![]()

I was training for the Toronto marathon in October and got a bad knee injury three months into training. I went to physio and he told me I needed to stop training for almost 8 weeks. I was following a running program I got from an online coach, but it was time to find someone who can tell me what I was doing wrong. I saw Marwa’s run coaching program and I signed up for the gait assessment. I think this was by far the best investment I made in my running journey. The assessment was very detailed, it showed me exactly where my weaknesses are (I’m very quad dominant and have a very tight IT band). Marwa gave me exercises that I needed to work on strengthening my glutes and I finally started training back after 3 weeks of working with her. Fast forward three months, I finished my marathon, pain free, with a personal best 3:45. Now I’m training for an ultra and I feel much more confident with Marwa being my running coach for it, she’s simply amazing to work with!Posted on Google![]()

I wanted to get into strength training but had no idea where to start. Because I work at a desk all day, I've always had issues with my lower back and shoulders, they get so tight and painful until I eventually threw out my lower back at an F45 class because my form was bad and no one corrected me. I knew I needed to work with an actual coach to correct my form and build strength without constantly worrying I would injure myself. That's when I found Marwa. In our first session, she did a movement assessment and caught compensations I didn't know I had. She then built a training program around my body's needs that was super beginner-friendly. What I love most is that she actually teaches you why you're doing something and what good form feels like. I've been training with her for 5 months now, I'm lifting weights I never thought I could, and my back and shoulders feel so much better. I actually feel like I'm much more open and loose. I can't recommend Marwa enough.Posted on Google![]()

I had a good experience working with marwha, I was a complete beginner and she was able to tell me I had some alignment and posture problems that I never noticed before and later got confirmed by a physiotherapist. A lot of the excersizes she recommended were also recommended by the therapist, so she could save you some money if you're worried about posture!

FAQs
For beginners especially yes, because the habits and movement patterns you build in the first few months tend to stick. Starting with a coach means you learn how to move properly before adding load, which prevents the injuries that set most people back 6–12 months in. Core starts with a movement assessment before any training begins, so there’s no guessing and no starting too hard too fast. Most beginner clients go from nervous about the gym to training confidently on their own within a few months.
A physiotherapist diagnoses and treats injuries, their job is to get you out of pain and restore basic function. A personal trainer especially an injury specialist, builds strength, corrects movement patterns, and progressively loads the body to prevent injury from coming back. The two roles are complementary, not interchangeable. A lot of clients come to Core after physio has done its job, the pain is gone but they don’t feel strong or confident yet. That’s where personal training picks up.
Yes. When consistent training stops producing results, the problem is usually the program, not the effort. Core starts with a movement assessment to find what is limiting your progress, then builds a structured program that changes as you adapt. Most clients who arrive at a plateau see measurable progress within the first training block
This depends entirely on what’s causing your pain, which is why a movement assessment matters more than a generic exercise list. That said, the exercises that help most chronic back pain focus on strengthening the posterior chain (glutes, hamstrings, and lower back) alongside hip mobility and core stability. The ones that tend to make things worse are loaded spinal flexion under fatigue. I work with clients in Toronto dealing with herniated discs and chronic back pain regularly. The goal is always to find movements that load the body without aggravating the injury while we address what’s actually causing it.
Yes and this is a significant part of what Core is built around. I’ve worked with clients recovering from runner’s knee, herniated discs, shin splints, torn shoulders, and ACL injuries. The starting point is always a full movement assessment to understand what’s still weak or compensating before any training begins. A lot of clients come in after physio, when the pain is gone but they don’t feel strong or confident yet. Getting out of pain and actually being strong again are two different things, and that’s the gap Core is built to close.
Recurring back pain after lifting is almost always a movement quality issue. You can be strong and still have patterns that load your spine the wrong way, usually because something is weak or tight and your lower back is compensating. The most common culprits are weak glutes that aren’t firing properly, limited hip mobility forcing the lower back to do work it shouldn’t be doing, or a bracing pattern that puts the wrong kind of pressure on your discs. Core starts with a movement assessment specifically to find this before building any training on top of it.
We’ll talk about what you’ve been doing, what’s not working, and whether Core is the right fit. No pressure, no pitch, just a conversation about you and your goals.
